Juno (2007)

The Good:
This is a quirky character driven film.
The directing is fantastic - the framing was very cool, the movement of the entire piece was fluid and the timing was great.
The actors were all very good.
Great plot progression and truthful theme and moral.
The feel was suburban storybook almost.
Great soundtrack.

The Bad:
Some of the writing was too good, almost too smart to be believable.
Character development must be assumed for some of the characters.

Overall:
I liked it a lot. Funny, fun, it has heart, it feels both real and surreal. It may not be the greatest film ever, but it was pretty awesome.

Hmmm... so many thoughts on this one.

First off - haven't seen it yet, not sure if I will. The trailers didn't do much for me and the dialog reminded me a little too much of Dawson's Creek with a little added pregnancy. I find it unnerving when people, especially teenagers, have conversations that are way beyond their capabilities. It is a bit too much of a stretch for my willing suspension of disbelief and I think it often takes away from the power of the message in what could have been a good film.

I also felt like this movie - just from the trailers - tried a little too hard to be this year's Little Miss Sunshine.
